Port Canaveral is one of the busiest cruise ports in the world. Located along the east coast of central Florida, near Orlando, almost 4 million passengers pass through it every year. The port also moves over 3 million short tons of build cargo every year. Port Canaveral has an interesting history. Cruises ships began to port in 1965, but it wasn't until the 1980۪s that cruise traffic took off. Port Canaveral supported NASA projects due to its close proximity to the John F. Kennedy Space Canter. At the time of the Apollo program, parts of the rockets were moved through the port. More recently, rocket boosters and external tanks for the Space Shuttle were brought through Port Canaveral. The company SpaceX also uses the port for their autonomous spaceport drone ships.

The major cruise line companies Royal Caribbean International, Carnival, Disney and Norwegian all run their ships through Port Canaveral. The port is home to Carnival Magic, Carnival Victory, Carnival Valor, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Majesty of the Seas and Freedom of the Seas. Cruise ships that dock at the port are AIDAvita, Carnival Pride, Grandeur of the Seas, Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Gem and Anthem of the Seas.

Port Canaveral Gate Information

• Port Canaveral (Fl, Charles M Rowland Drive, Cape Canaveral, FL, United States) for cruise ships is divided into two sections. Section A is on the North Side of the port, and Section B is on the South Side of the port.
• Section A is located in the Northwest portion of the port. The Entrance is located in the southwest corner of Section A, off the road SR 401.
• After passing through security, passengers will proceed to their designated terminal. CT10 is the closest to the entrance and the southernmost terminal in Section A off of Charles M. Rowland Dr. Passengers head east from the main entrance. Carnival Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean International cruise ships dock here.
• CT8 is the second closest the entrance and is located just north of CT10 off of Cruise Terminal Dr. It is northeast of the main entrance. Disney Cruise Lines leave port from here.
• CT5 and CT6 are the northernmost terminals and farthest away from the main entrance. CT6 is the south-facing terminal and CT5 is the east facing terminal. Both terminals house ships from Carnival Cruise Lines.
• Section B South Entrance is located to the southeast of the port off of the road SR 528 Beachline.
• The closest terminal is CT1, which is east of the South Entrance off of George J. King Blvd. The terminal houses Royal Caribbean International cruise ships. It is currently under construction.
• CT2 is farther east from the South Entrance, located on Christopher Columbus Dr. Victory Casino Cruises docks at CT2.
• Right beside CT2, just to the east and still along Christopher Columbus Dr. is CT3. This terminal houses Port-of-Calls.
• Each terminal in both Section A and B have their own parking lots.
